A short duration above 60% during incubation is not detrimental to your hatch rates, but if for some reason you are constantly seeing levels above 60% during incubation then we suggest using a clean dry sponge to help absorb some of the excess moisture...
Do you suggest removing the vent plug during lock down?
Yes, we do suggest removing the vent plug during lock down in order to increase the amount of fresh air that the newly hatched chicks will get.
Do I need to turn the automatic turner off once they start to hatch?
Yes, it is common to turn the auto turner off and make sure the eggs are laid on their sides for hatching.
