This humane poultry dispatcher is a simple yet effective appliance. Attach to a wall, post, tree or beam. To use, insert neck of bird in U gap and pull lever down swiftly.This will break the neck of the bird, sever the spinal cord and form a cavity into which the blood will drain when the bird is hung.The appliance is not intended to sever the head of the bird and an adjusting screw is provided to regulate the gap for various bird sizes. This wall mounted poultry dispatcher is suitable for birds up to about 25 pounds (~10 Kg). How to use: Step 1 – Calmly hold the bird Step 2 – Lift the handle up and then securely grip the lower legs of the bird just above the feet. Position the bird so the neck rests across the “U” resting area from left to right. The bird will usually calmly sit there. Step 3 – Firmly and swiftly press the handle downwards until it stops as the bolt rests on the stopper and hold it in position. The bird will probably flutter and convulse a little bit but it will have been instantly dispatched and feel no pain. Step 4 – Hang the bird by the feet so the blood and fluids drain into the neck and head cavity. Because of this you should little if any blood. Step 5 – Process the bird as normal. To set the unit to the right size, measure the gap that will be left once the handle is in it's fully pushed in position. Numbers are approximate and will vary based on the actual size of the bird. Quail: gap of ~1/16" of an inch (bolt almost all of the way in)Chicken: gap of ~1/8" (bolt about half way in)Goose/Turkey: gap of ~1/4" (bolt nearly all the way out)

GQF Box Brooders are designed to eliminate stress in young birds by providing plenty of heat, fresh air, light, feed and water space, and sanitary conditions for a confined area. Three clear plastic panels allow full and easy viewing of the brooder’s interior. Each brooder comes with three 28.5' troughs which maybe used for either feed or water. Ample feed and water space is necessary to allow weaker chicks access in the presence of more dominant chicks. Any trough may be equipped with optional automatic watering to provide the large quantity of water necessary. Failure to provide proper feed and water space can result in slower weight gain and perhaps higher chick mortality. The troughs are mounted on the outside of the brooder so that the chicks do not mix droppings into the food or water. The 300-watt heater provides sufficient heat while the vented plastic side panels keep out drafts. As chicks are drawn to light rather than heat, each heater has a socket for a low wattage attraction light bulb (2 bulbs included), which helps to hold the chicks in the heated area. Each brooder comes with a thermometer and a wafer thermostat, which is accurate to 1 degree. The floor is a thin wire ½” mesh which will allow droppings to easily pass through. For small chicks like quail this floor requires that a layer of No 1628 DACB paper or paper towels be laid down on the wire for the first 4 to 7 days after which quail may stand on the ½” wire floor. Day old poultry and ducks can be placed directly on the wire. Drop pans are made of lightweight aluminum for long life. Drop pans can be easily pulled out even when brooders are stacked and the wire floor is heavy with birds. Package of 10. These lightweight trays are made of durable paper mache and are ideal for use in collecting and holding eggs. Each tray holds 50 eggs and will stack one on top of the other by turning each tray opposite the one below. These trays are also ideal for use as Incubator Egg Positioners when holes are cut to permit circulation of the air. Cracked eggs are practically eliminated when using our egg trays.
