QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • How do you recommend cleaning the sensor after a hatch?

It is best to pop the grey sensor cage open and make sure the vented part of the cage is clear of any buildup. This will insure proper readings from your HumdiKit.

  • Will this work for the accuhatch incubator?

    Yes it will.

  • Are there any videos online explaining how to set up the controller of the humidikit?

We do not have a video for the HumidiKit controller yet. We do have a simple, quick, video showing this installment process. The link will be included below. We will have a video for the controller in the future.

  • The Humidikit comes with a 1-L bottle, would using a 2-L pop bottle instead cause damage to the ultrasonic disk?

We do not recommend a bottle larger than one liter because it can cause a couple issues. One being that it can harm the ultrasonic disc. Another issue is the oversize water bottle cannot support itself and cause spillage. This water on the outside of the unit can cause shorts and damage the humidikit.

  • Where can I find parts for HumidiKit?

We do not sell individual parts for the HumidiKit on our website. If you do have any issues with your unit the customer service representative will work with you to find the best solution to fix the issue. You can contact with customer service through incubatorwarehouse.com chats, email, or call in at (208) 740-1344.

  • What position should the on-off switch be in to turn the humidifier on, round circle down for on or the dash down? Which is on and off?

The power switch on the back of the humidifier typically has the dash as 'on' (dash down) and the circle as 'off' (circle down). However, we have received and sent out a few units with the switch attached backward. This does not affect the unit functions but can be a bit confusing. The best way to tell is plug in your unit, flip the switch and see which side is 'on'/'off'. Then mark it so you will always know.

  • How do I lower the humidity in my incubator?

The best way to lower humidity in an incubator is to open the vent cap(s) and wait around an hour to see if the humidity stabilizes where you want it. If that does not lower it enough you can remove some of the water from your water troughs in the base of your incubator. Again waiting around an hour to see if the humidity drops to where you want it. If you are struggling to consistently maintain your humidity levels or want a more hands-free option, we do sell the "HumidiKit™ - Auto Humidity System for Incubators." This automated system has sensors that will keep a more reliable humidity level without you having to constantly check up on your incubator. Here is a link to the HumidiKit™: https://incubatorwarehouse.com/humidikit.html

  • Will the HumidiKit™ work on the IncuView™ All-In-One Automatic Egg Incubator?

Yes! The HumidKit™ - Auto Humidity System for Incubators will work great with the IncuView™ All-In-One Automatic Egg Incubator. The HumidiKit™ also works well with any of the other incubators we have listed.

  • Would the Hygrostat turn off the humidifier when the high limit is reached

The HumidiKit is designed to hold a specific humidity and not a high and low point. You would set the humidity at a point like 50% the humidifier would then run until the 50% humidity level is reached and then it would turn off the humidifier. It would turn on again once the humidity reached 48%. The high and low limits are just limits to what the target humidity can be set to.

  • What if it runs out of water on accident?

If the unit runs low on water it will simply stop running.

  • Does it dehumidify the incubator if the humidity is too high?

It does not, the HumidiKit will only provide controlled humidity for your inubator.

  • Will this work with a Brinsea Ovation Advance? There does not appear to be a place to insert the hose or the sensor.

No, the HumidiKit will not work with the Brisea model incubators due to fitment issues.

  • Would the HumidiKit work with a larger cabinet incubator?

We have tested the HumidiKit in cabinet size models that are approximatley the size of a GQF cabinet incubator and it works great. The dimensions of a GQF cabinet incubator are approximatley 32" H x 32" L x 17" W. It would most likely work in a cabinet incubator larger than this but might need to be modified with a larger hose to be able to deliver more mist into a larger incubator.

  • Can you set the humidity range or do you set a specific humidity level you want and will it stay at that?

For the HumidiKit all you will have to do is set the desired humidity level and it will maintain that level for you with only minor variances.

  • What is the wattage of the HumidiKit?

The HumidiKit runs at roughly 30 watts.

Do it!!

I was on the fence as we had already spent so much money on eggs, an incubator, auto upright turner, etc. This auto humidifier has been a game changer in our hatching rates for shipped eggs! Do it, spend the money, and just do it!

great product.

This humidifier kit did exactly what I needed it to do. It kept the humidity at the right level without having to open my incubator to add wet sponges. I live in a very dry climate and it was impossible to get the humidity in the hatching range. I did reach out for some help with set up. Incubator warehouse was AMAZING! They helped me figure out what was wrong and got it fixed. I am very happy with their customer service.

Great customer service.

I had issues with leakage, sent email. 5 minute response, 2 questions, new unit mailed. Definitely recommend incubator warehouse, way cheaper for my product than Amazon too.

Been working great, had to call and see if I

Been working great, had to call and see if I could take the sensor apart to see if it would fit in the pre drilled hole in my sportsman 1502 and the customer service tech walked me through it and it's awesome.

Doesn't last long enough to justify the price

I got this two years ago for my Incuview table top because a humidity pump for my larger batches in the cabinet incubator had transformed how my hatches turned out. The first year it worked great. Year two, there was some leaking and then, noticeably it stopped pumping water. Brought it out again this year to try again. No luck. It has just stopped working. There are no parts available (if I knew what was wrong), and replacing is ridiculous. If it breaks in a year, I am willing to pay $50, but not $130 per year. That's ridiculous. I might as well save myself some money and buy another small cabinet incubator with a humidity pump for that price.

Works Perfectly!

I was having some issues with my initial purchase. I called customer service and they walked me through trouble shooting. They determined the item was faulty. They sent a replacement right away and when received it worked perfectly! You can expect perfection every time, but its how they handled a faulty item and I was very pleased. And the item really works as advertised. Easy simple set up as well.

Cheaply made - not worth the price tag

Item showed up damaged. Was clearly packaged this was as the packaging was completely intact and fine with security seal in place and untampered with. Product does not function as advertised.

great company. Defective product

I have purchased three humidikits. When they work it is a huge benefit. They are very poorly assembled, the last one was in pieces in the box upon arrival. I can not get consistent performance from any of them and that is why I bought three. The company is good, however, but the product is not

Great in theory

It works great for about a week. I've gone through two now as they end up leaking into the electrical area and shorting out. Frustrating, it's a great concept that works great in theory but there are design flaws that cause full failure.

Not really worth the price it’s a 35 dollar reptile forger and 10 dollar inaccurate humidity sensor. Over priced. Just get an ink bird humidity switch and a reptile forger with output control. I gave it 3 stars because it works very well it’s just over priced.

Wonderful product

This is hands down one of my best purchases I and in Colorado our humidity is always very low this allows me to keep a consistent humpty throughout the hatch. I love it!!!

Must have!!!!!

I purchased this Humidikit a few weeks ago, and let me tell you, besides my Incuview Incubator, this was the next best purchase I've made. They go together perfectly! If your having issues trying to keep humidity where it should be or if you cant be troubled with adding water all of the time or just plain forget to add water, you need this in your life! This is an amazing product and makes incubating and hatching absolutely effortless. I can't recommend this item enough! Way to go again Incubator Warehouse, this is another fabulous product!! I will be purchasing a second one to go with my other Incuview!

love this product, could be priced a little lower

i have purchased 4 of these as i hatch alot of chicken and turkeys for homesteading, ive had 2 of the sensors that went out and Incubator warehouse stood by their warranty and replaced the units, i actually am waiting for them to be in stock again. as these units has helped my hatch rates go from 50 percent to between 75 and 100 percent a must to have for me :) highly recommend

Amazing Product

I wish I had purchased one when I first started hatching. I have done 3 duckling hatches very easily and didn't have to wake up to check humidity at night. No more sponges and humidity spikes. It stays very steady during hatch! I highly recommend this to anyone hatching eggs.

Perfect humidity control

I was really tired of chasing the humidity levels in multiple incubators so I bought of these to try. I love this unit! Set it and forget it! Just fill the bottle when it’s low, it’s really a time saver. I used this on a cabinet incubator and also installed the advanced IncuStat. Now the temperature is rock solid at 99.5 and the humidity is solid at 50%. Highly recommend both units.

Poor quality/no longevity

I used the Humidkit for 1.5 hatches last season, and it worked ok- some leaking of steam, so keep a pan under it. I pulled it out for spring hatch season and it didn't work. The control that automatically turns the humidity on didn't always shut off at the set range, so many times the humidity was running full blast for hours. Unplugging and resetting were temporary fixes, but it always went back to full blast. My air cells are a mess (too small from too much moisture), so I don't know if they will hatch. I was days outside of the year warranty, so nothing can be done other than buy replacement parts at my expense. Something for this price should work for more than 1.5 hatches.

RESPONSE FROM INCUBATOR WAREHOUSE: This issue has been completely fixed. The mechanical switch inside the hygrostat has been replaced with a much more reliable solid state switch (no moving parts). If anyone has a HumidiKit that is sticking on please contact us for a replacement with the new upgraded solid state switch. Thanks & Happy Incubating!

This product is an absolute must if you're using a circulated air incubator in Florida.

This product is an absolute must if you're using a circulated air incubator in Florida. When it comes to incubating turkey eggs, the humidity was almost always too high throughout the incubation period... then at hatch it was too low for turkeys. So after doing some research and comparing products, I decided to purchase this and I couldn't be happier. I was able to keep the humidity level at 55% and around day 24 / 25 I was able to increase the humidity to 80% or higher. When it comes to turkey poults, you really can't have it too high at hatch. If it's too dry the membrane will become like rubber and they will be trapped, unable to break through it and die in their shells. The high humidity helps to soften those shells a bit to make it easier for the poults to break out of their little prisons. So I highly recommend this product.
