During incubation, eggs must be turned several times a day to prevent the yolk from settling on one side and to exercise the embryo. Turning the eggs by hand can be very time-consuming. To use, insert neck of bird in U gap and pull lever down swiftly.This will break the neck of the bird, sever the spinal cord and form a cavity into which the blood will drain when the bird is hung.The appliance is not intended to sever the head of the bird and an adjusting screw is provided to regulate the gap for various bird sizes. How to use: Step 1 – Calmly hold the bird Step 2 – Lift the handle up and then securely grip the lower legs of the bird just above the feet. Position the bird so the neck rests across the “U” resting area from left to right. The bird will usually calmly sit there. Step 3 – Firmly and swiftly press the handle downwards until it stops as the bolt rests on the stopper and hold it in position. The bird will probably flutter and convulse a little bit but it will have been instantly dispatched and feel no pain. Step 4 – Hang the bird by the feet so the blood and fluids drain into the neck and head cavity. Because of this you should little if any blood. Step 5 – Process the bird as normal. To set the unit to the right size, measure the gap that will be left once the handle is in it's fully pushed in position. Numbers are approximate and will vary based on the actual size of the bird. IncuKit Heating Wafer

This extension adapts the IncuKit XL to work for larger reptile incubators. Without this adapter, the fan stays on constantly. This adapts the wiring so that the fan and heater turn off once the set temperature is reached. This helps to keep the incubator from overheating when the set temperature is close to the room temperature. And it keeps the air from circulating too much, which would tend to dry the eggs out.

How to determine the appropriate size container for the IncuKit MINI: There are several factors that determine how much power will be required to heat your container up to the appropriate temperature to hatch eggs. The size of the container, how well it is insulated, the room temperature, and how much the room temperature fluctuates will all have a significant impact. The best way to determine if the IncuKit™ MINI is the right size for your container is pretty simple. Just put a 60-watt light bulb in your container (ensure it is thermally insulated since they get pretty hot!) and measure how warm your container gets. If it easily gets to at least 100 degrees F, then the IncuKit™ MINI should work. It is the user’s responsibility to determine if this product will generate enough heat for your container.

Incubator Warehouse's Digital Electronic Egg Incubator Thermostat Description: This thermostat is very simple to use.  Just press the up arrow to set the temperature (in 0.1 degree increments).  There is a flame indicator on the screen that shows when the heater is operating.  The unit has an 18 inch remote sensor that is placed inside the incubator.  The white thermostat case is then mounted on the outside of the incubator.  Finally you can measure the temperature right next to your eggs, not the air at the top of the incubator. This can be set to read in Celsius or Fahrenheit Comes preset to 99.5 (this means that if you lose power the thermostat will come back on set to 99.5) - Preset to 37.5 in Celsius mode Thermostat set point can be adjusted to any temperature between 41 - 113 degrees Fahrenheit Digital readout displays temperature to the tenth of a degree (examples: 98.0, 99.5) If the temperature goes over 99.9, it reads: 00.1, 00.2, 00.3, etc Designed specifically for incubators, great for small incubators AND cabinet incubators (can switch heating elements up to 225 Watts) Remote Temperature Sensor (18 inches long) Select your voltage above in the drop down box (220/240V AC ONLY).  220/240V AC is for most places outside of North America. Temperature Switching Differential = 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit. This means if the thermostat is set to 99.5 the thermostat will turn the heat on when the thermostat sensor reads below 99.3 and turn off when the sensor reads above 99.7.  NOTE: It is normal for the thermostat to turn the heater off and still have the air temperature increase a little bit. This happens because as the power to the heater turns off, the heater is still hot and will heat the air around it. The same is true when the heater turns back on: the temperature may decrease a little more as the heater gets back up to temperature. The amount this happens will depend on the thermal mass of your heating element and the amount of circulation in your incubator. Keep in mind that the air temperature may vary without a negative impact to the eggs if the variation is rapid enough to not allow the egg to heat or cool more than it should.  As long as the up and down cycle is relatively small, is less than a few minutes, and the average air temperature is at your target temperature, the temperature inside your egg (which is what really matters) will be just fine!  This is true with any incubator and egg configuration.  Calibration Enabled.  This means that you can calibrate the thermostat to a specific temperature.  For example: If you have a thermometer that you trust and the digital thermostat reads a little different, you can calibrate the thermostat to match the trusted thermometer (calibrate in 0.1 degree increments up to +/- 5 degrees) Wiring and operation instructions included. It also includes instructions for installing an incubator fan, if desired.
